10 things I can't "live" without in lolita
1.Petticoats, in both white and black (since I wear both light and dark colored dresses) and in both fluffy bell shape and a-line since I wear sweet & classic
2. Drawers. I really love them! I love the old school look of them peeking out under skirts and also garter drawers/bloomers. I think they make outfits more interesting.
3. Boleros, cardigans and pullovers in Lolita style. I feel cold a lot of the time, so I can't go without them.
4. Deoderant. And when it's warm, I sweat absurdly much >_>; that's why I always carry deoderant around wherever I go.
5. Matching accessories. I try to match my accessories with my outfit as much as possible, and I think without them it isn't really complete.
6. A matching bag. I have a matching bag for most outfits.
7. Music. Wherever I go in "weird" fashion, I always listen to music to be deaf to insults or anything (or other comments for that matter, I hate getting attention. now you may ask "why are you wearing such an attention catching fashion then" because I like it myself and I don't dress for others)
8. Self confidence ^^ Of course, when I don't feel confident I will not wear lolita that day.
9. Money *sigh*. Even if you already have enough cute outfits, meetups cost money too.
10. Lolita friends! :D Without them wearing lolita would be much less exciting.

The "Oh no I'm so ugly" mood
This is not completely related to lolita fashion, but still has a bit to do with it. I'm sure you have sometimes looked in the mirror and thought "Oh no, I look so horrible, and this pretty dress is not even going to change it". Not even because of lesser dating opportunities, but also because pretty people just have an unfair step ahead in life, or so it seems. From time to time another research pops up that explains how pretty people have better job opportunities/more friends/make more money and whatever they like to explore nowadays.
The big advantage of lolita fashion is that it isn't meant to make you look sexy, which makes it less confronting in my opinion. For example, if I still don't look attractive after spending hours preparing on a sexy festival outfit, I can get really upset, thinking stuff like: 'What guy would want me, anyway?'. But with lolita, I just don't care about what guys will think of me because they will probably be distracted by my 'weird clothes' anyway!
I think there are only a few girls that can honestly say they are pretty, and even if they are, they sometimes don't even see it. For me, it isn't some kind of BDD. A lot of people have agreed with my own opinion that I'm not, well, very pretty. I am happy with my body, which is not something a lot of women can say and it hasn't always been that way so I am really thankful for that now. I am also happy with how my face looks from the front. Ok, it is too long and not *gasp! oh so model like gorgeous~!* but whatever, Liv Tylers face is too long as well and at least I don't look deformed. Besides, this is an advice for all girls with this weird face shape: bangs work wonders.
But from the side..from the side I really look horrible. My nose is huge with a bump on it, my face is flat and my chin weak. In my teenage years I was really depressed about it. I can't imagine it now, but I used to long for a nose job *shudder*. I still think about it sometimes, but actually I am really against plastic surgery. After all, if you can't accept your own flaws, can you accept them on others? Of course I'm not talking about fixing birth 'defects', reconstructing faces after accidents and such. It's one thing to accept looking average but of course no one should feel deformed.

As for me, I used to feel like I was deformed while in reality, I am average. On the less fortunate side of average but definitely not freakish. I've come to terms with my flaws and I am happy to be average everyday. Of course I am a bit upset sometimes when some shallow *ss comes and declares everybody with less than modellike looks horribly ugly. But that's their shortcoming, not mine, so whenever I encounter somebody like that I always enjoy myself with the following song.
(You know you want to hear it!)
(You know you want to hear it!)
Even though that fucker just ignored my compliment and replied to everyone elses /rage.
I have really mixed feelings about the maker of this video (highschool kid with too much time), I think he is a genius and I want to cut his balls off and show him hell for ignoring me at the same time.

10 Songs that inspire you for Lolita
Ok, I'm not doing the questions from this lolita challenge in the correct order I believe, but ok. Here are 10 songs that inspire me for Lolita ^_^
1. Candy candy - Kyary
I think the songtext is very beautiful!
4. Namie Amuro - Sexy girl
6. Kaggra - Ao no souretsu
9. Fabulous/McMelodyDoll: Throw It In The Bag
Granted, I am not a huge Lady GaGa fan, although I love the song 'Judas'. This particular song is a but too shallow for me but on the other hand, I heard it as background music in a Lolita fashion show video and it fitted really well. So it is a bit of an inspiration for me.
1. Candy candy - Kyary
When I first heard it, I thought: "What kind of idiot likes a song with a "songtext" like that? Candy, candy candy candy candy *song stuck in head* Oh crap! I think I like it! It'is cute..It's so cute and catchy!"
2. Walking proud - Ayumi Hamasaki
I think the songtext is very beautiful!
3. Lolita komplex - Dance with me
This band has the name Lolita in it and apparently, it involves singers dressed in lolita as well, but it seems to be an assemblage of all kinds of weird things, LOL! Since I like weird things, I kind of like it.
4. Namie Amuro - Sexy girl
At first I wanted to post Namie´s style because it´s one of my current favorite songs but it was not on Youtube :( I know lolita isn´t about being sexy at all, but I disagree, there are always some people that find it sexy. You can´t deny it, I think lolitas need to grow up on that part
5. Edvin Marton - Panis angelicus
The breathtaking song that was used by the Marui One Victorian Maiden fashion show
6. Kaggra - Ao no souretsu
I've loved this song since I first got into lolita fashion. It's awesome.
7. Garbage - Dir en grey
LOL ok I'm not a gothic lolita, but I have a confession: I've tried listening to Moi-même-Moitié, but I sort of fell asleep during it. I mean, ok, it sounds very classical and all, but I prefer my music to either be sugarly sweet or decent rock, but not something in between. Same for Versailles and The GazettE, but I was probably too impatient (like I always am ;)) and missed the good songs because I dropped out too quickly. But anyway, I like Dir en grey much better and I love songs like this that were called something like 'great takkeherrie' by a Dutch reviewer of Japanese music- sorry I really don't know how to translate takkeherrie in English, it seems to have no equivalent except for 'really bad noise' or something :P. Their lyrics are sometimes beautifully deep like with Embryo.
8. Laura Jansen - Wicked world
Do I need to explain this? :P I always get so happy from this song!
9. Fabulous/McMelodyDoll: Throw It In The Bag
This song (the parody, that is XD) is just one of the greatest songs ever :D It isn't only funny, it is a good song too! ;) 'McMelodyDoll' is one of my lolita idols.
10. Fashion - Lady Gaga
Granted, I am not a huge Lady GaGa fan, although I love the song 'Judas'. This particular song is a but too shallow for me but on the other hand, I heard it as background music in a Lolita fashion show video and it fitted really well. So it is a bit of an inspiration for me.
Fashion shows from my favorite Lolita brands
I thought, it would be fun to include videos of fashion shows from my favorite Lolita brands in my blog!
Angelic Pretty
One of the brands that made me fell in love with lolita clothes. Can it be more frilly, pink, girly and plain adorable?
Victorian Maiden
Love the clothes, love the music *cries*. Victorian Maiden is just so elegant, and cute and girly without going over the top. For some reason, I prefer Victorian Maiden over Mary Magdalene and Juliette et Justine (other classic lolita brands).
My other two favorite lolita brands are Metamorphose temps de fille (because this brand really has all sorts of lolita styles, their sweet designs are lovely yet not too over the top, dares to experiment, ships overseas and has a very varying size range) and Bodyline (not really considered a brand, but I still call it a brand, because I think their clothes are of good quality and have adorable designs.). Unfortunately these do not have videos of fashion shows :(

Happy belated new year
Happy very belated new year.
One of my resolutions was spending more time on this blog. No, actually it wasn't, I had none, but I think I should also be updating this blog some more, because blogging about Lolita fashion is fun. I read other Lolita blogs a lot, my favorites are Luna Rain's, F Yeah Lolita, Rose Lolita Wonderland, McDuffs Auditorium, Bats & Bunnies, Sweet Lolita doll and Toothless Tigers. (the last five are from fellow Dutch Lolitas).
If I can update my own blog half as much as the blogs I like to read myself, I'll be satisfied since I'm rather lazy and sometimes busy too.

10 different kinds of food you like
I didn't really understand what this question has to do with Lolita at first, but I guess what the question really implies is what kind of high tea mini cake that looks too pretty to eat you usually eat at Lolita tea party.
Unfortunately my baking skills (and interest) are lacking, so I've only bought things for meetups (shame on me). But I've tasted pretty great things at meetups. Here are my favorites.
#1 Smoothies. Especially when made with fresh fruit.
#2 Cheesecake with fruit or fruit salad/punch.
#3 Bonbons. I just love chocolate.
#4 Scones. The English can't be beaten with frivolous tea treats.
#5 Homemade cake. Especially yoghurt or bavarois with strawberries.
Now, my favorite foods outside of Lolita:
#6 Pancakes (especially from a restaurant)
#7 Pizza
#8 Turkish "Durum"
#9 Couscous with raisins
#10 Pasta carbonara

| I reckoned that I should add a delicious looking example from one of the foods of my choice, so here it is I guess. Excuse the big stock watermark. |
